ARTIST
I'm a part time artist who grew up in a small town in the Midwest. While I am a full time pharmacist, art has always been a huge passion for me. Painting makes me feel complete. I draw my inspiration from nature, color, light, and my many experiences traveling with my husband and toddler who loves to color (yellow is her current favorite).
The mediums that I use mostly are acrylic and watercolor paints. Occasionally, I like to experiment with recycled or reclaimed materials such as barn wood and paper. While some of my work is more realistic, I like to play with how light and color reflect in nature. This experimentation with light and color has guided me towards more abstract work with lots of texture and vibrant colors.
I am a firm believer that we need to take care of our planet and take care of ourselves. Painting is my outlet to relieve stress and improve my mental health. I am working toward a goal to make my art more eco friendly so I can truly contribute to the beauty of our planet. I still have a long way to go, but I strive to be as green as possible while I create.
